What does the zipper number mean?
The number is roughly the width of the closed zipper teeth in millimetres. A higher number means bigger, stronger teeth. So a No. 10 zipper is much stronger than a No. 3, but also chunkier.
| Size | Strength | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| No. 3 | Small, light | Kurtis, dresses, trousers, pockets, pouches |
| No. 5 | Medium, most popular | Jackets, hoodies, bags, cushion covers |
| No. 8 | Heavy | Backpacks, luggage, heavy jackets, mattress covers |
| No. 10 | Extra heavy | Duffel bags, big storage bags, tents, furniture covers |
CFC vs CH
These are two types of coil chain we make. Both are polyester (PET) coil zippers. CFC is our main range in No. 3, 5, 8 and 10; CH is available in No. 3. If you're unsure which suits your product, ask us on WhatsApp.

Matching the slider
The slider must match the zipper number — a No. 5 slider only fits No. 5 chain. We stock zinc alloy sliders for No. 5, 8 and 10 and plastic sliders for No. 5.
