What is a zipper roll?
A zipper roll (also called long chain or continuous zipper) is a long length of zipper chain without sliders. You cut it to any length, fit a slider, and sew it into your product.
Why buy rolls?
- Any length — one roll covers every product size you make.
- Less waste and lower cost than stocking many ready-made zipper lengths.
- Mix sliders — use different pullers or colours on the same chain.
How much to order
Multiply the zipper length per product by your quantity, then add a little extra for cutting. For example, 500 cushion covers × 45 cm = 225 m, which is just over one 183 m roll plus part of a second. Our rolls are 91.5 m or 183 m, packed by the bag, and MOQ is 1 bag.
Cutting and fitting the slider
- Cut the chain to length with sharp scissors.
- Open the two sides slightly at one end.
- Slide both sides into the slider evenly so the teeth line up.
- Pull the slider up to join the teeth, then sew in the zipper.
- Finish the ends with a stopper or by stitching across them.
Make sure the slider number matches the chain — see the zipper size guide. Order zipper rolls and sliders together in one quote.
